What is Dirt Burger? It's a quietly arranged meeting of the swollen minds down in Decorah, IA.

And by meeting of the minds I mean beer drenched bike nerds talking about riding bikes in the woods.

So Friday afternoon, after the office toil, I set my sights on heading south to Decorah, IA. Land of the good n plenty. Trout, gout and cornbread. To get there I plugged T Bock's into the GyPSy. This is my safe place in Decorah. My regular dumb luck lead me to arrive right as Fiona and Chewey rolled into town. We made sure to patronize T Bock's and antagonize Sov before heading up the bluffs to meet him.

Fiona tried the Bob sauce.

Bob Sauce comes on the Captain. That's the man Captain in the back and the sandwich Captain in the front. Both are as gooey as they appear to be.

After T Bock's we heading up the bluffs and replenished the site with more beer. Sov had done a number on the supply all by his lonesome. The rest of the weekend was filled with goading locals into joining our little camp, rides through the amazing trails of Decorah (Lots of climbing. Lots of rocks) and good food and beer with friends.

One of my absolute favorite parts was heading down the hill to play Bucketball. Bucketball was devised many moons ago. Ask Sov for the full story.

My interpretation: This is a game of blood, sweat and beers. You locate a bucket. It must have a lid, must be empty and should have a handle. Look for pickle bucket size. We used a compound bucket. Now find a large open area. Parking lots work well as long as there are no cars parked. The name of the game is to split into two teams with boundaries and goal lines established. There is a ref, who is usually too drunk or loves their fancy bike too much to play. The teams are all set up behind their goal lines and the ref tosses the bucket into the middle of the field. Both teams charge in and try to move the bucket to score across the other team's goal line. You can only move the bucket with your bike. No feet on the ground. If you touch the ground with any part of your body you must ride outside of the boundaries and then you can come back in.

It was amazing. I loved every minute of it. Brian's lovely wife was able to snag some great video. Check them out to get a better idea. I only wish she had gotten footage of any of the three times Spinner ate shit charging the field. That would have been neat.

The weekend ended in rain as my camping excursions usually do. Only minorish injuries including bruises and a little blood. All worth it. If you are able to hang be sure to check it out next year. It's hard to hear about, no one really knows what's going on but it is always a good time. Mostly.

Spinner's hand, Jeff's Steak, My Leg.
