This week we released data on our latest mix up for the year, Karate Monkey SS, Karate Monkey 27.5+, Flat Bar Cross-Check and Troll. Refreshing these amazing rides for different reasons and bringing out the best in each. Here is the run down in bullet form of each special beast.

Flat Bar Cross-Check

What did we do?

  • Took the incomparable Cross-Check frame and dressed it for affordable success (domestic MSRP $875!)
  • Comes stock with MSW Pork Chop rear rack, easy riding swept back flat bar by Dimension, high value, easy maintenance SRAM X5 1x9 drivetrain
  • Urban DeGray

Why did we do it?

We wanted to offer a high value, low cost option for one of our most popular models. This bike has been tested and loved by the masses for over a decade. Making a more attainable package with added utility makes this an easy add to the herd for daily use or the start of your addiction into the world of bikes for life. It's a Surly gateway drug!

When will it be in stock?

Okay folks, we all know how this goes. So let's say we are reasonably confident we will be seeing the first shipment of these bikes arriving at the end of August or early September. Our second shipment should hit in December if you aren't able to grab from the first round.

Troll

What did we do?

  • No longer suspension corrected
  • More room for frame bags
  • New dropouts (like the Wednesday) Gnot-Boost = the dropout spacing measures 145mm and can be slightly expanded to fit a Boost hub, or clamped to fit a 142mm hub
  • New thru-axle with sliding cap system to work with both 142 and 148mm hubs
  • 10/12 adapter spacers to allow the use of a 135mm QR hub
  • The chainstay yoke has been redesigned to be fully compatible with 26+ tires
  • Surly ExtraTerrestrial tires come stock
  • Dropouts still allow disc brakes, fenders, a Rohloff, and racks
  • Braze-ons. Lots and lots of braze-ons.
  • Domestic MSRP $1,649
  • Get Gone Maroon

Why did we do it?

We decided it was time to pump up the Troll for what the Troll does best - pack shit and roll. The changes to the Troll frame mean more space for packing, increased versatility with the new dropouts and more cushion for your pushin' with a max tire size of 26" x 3".

When will it be in stock?

Currently looking like an early Winter stock date. Time to save your pennies!
